Before i started reading this book i was very unsure if i was actually going to enjoy it as i have already seen the film so i knew the plot which usually ruins the story as nothing is unexpected. During reading this book a lot of different emotions where shown like sadness and anger. However i really enjoyed this book because it was actually based on a true disaster and it made me realise how different life would of been throughout the war. Even though it was such a sad book it actually has some happy twists to it too as it makes you realised that even though he was only a little boy he still cared about others and wanted to learn more.

I also like the book aswell as the film as you can see the few differences and it also gives the film in more detail which makes you able to sympathise more. If your interested in the war and dont mind a book that is a bit sad then it would be a perfect book for you!

I really recommend this book for people above the age of 12 as it can be a bit sad at times.

This book is very interesting and once you start reading it i found it very hard to put down.Bella Swan a girl the age of seventeen moves to forks washington with her father charlie for the summer.Shes fairly quiet she doesn't quite fit in but when the Cullen's,a vampire family that eat only animals,show up her world changes,edward cullen is fascinated by Bella because he cant read her mind,one of his great powers,the Cullen family all have a power. But he must keep his distance fore,her scent is impossible to bare.Jake an old friend of bella is kind to Bella and hates sam and the group hes made,he claims they've changed them. Bella develops feelings for edward as jake devolops feelings for Bella. Bella is brought to the cullens family and they have a game of baseball but is ended when trackers show up,one cant resist and claims he'll have Bella,Edward has to take her away and keep her from him.This book was really good and i would recommend it to teenagers around 13-16.

i think this book is in a lot more detail compared to the film and you can also interpret it in your own way,

Kiss By Jacqueline Wilson

I began reading this and I wasn't too sure at first but after a while I began to enjoy it more and more. It was recommended to me by my sister who is two years older than me and I now understand why she enjoyed this book.

Well to start off it was a nice size book, not too short but also not too big so it had just the right amount of description and also the size of the writing was perfect as you could read it without any trouble. The audience this book is aimed at is definitely girl teenagers and the author make this obvious throughout the story.

Throughout the entire story Jacqueline Wilson uses colloquial lexis to make it seem very informal so the teenagers can understand her and that makes the audience want to sympathise with the characters as it shows there feelings easily. Also you are able to sympathise with the main character who is teenage girl because it a situation which does happen nowadays.

Also at the end of every chapter something bad happens so at the end it is a nice relief when her and the person she used to love but then realised she couldn't love him ended just being friends it makes the reader feel a sigh of relief as the tension has been building up throughout the whole book.

I thought this is a really good book for teenage girls however from the beginning you can guess what will happen in the end so it isn't a shock at the end.

I would rate this book **** (4 stars)

Stone Cold

I started reading this book in class in year 8 but it turned out that we were only reading parts of it so I decided to buy it for myself as it seemed like a interesting book to read.

It starts of a bit gloomy and dull, the author is trying to get the audience to feel guilty and to reflect on there own social conscience about homelessness and I started to wonder if I would actually even want to read this book in class never mind at home but as I read further on I started wanting to know what was going to happen next every time I put the book down, it was like there was a cliffhanger after every chapter.

It also had some interesting words in which then I wanted to find out what they meant, this also widened my vocabulary. However you have to really pay attention to what's happening because in the story there are two different people writing, so its like a diary entry but from two different people in one book. This is interesting but you have to make sure you understand which person is writing. I found this a good idea because it means the reader can feel both actors point of view and can sympathise with both of them but in this case it was in extremely different ways, as one of them was a homeless man so you sympathised to him as he has no where to go but the other person is a murderer and he is mad the reader can still sympathise with him because we feel sorry that he has turned that way and he talks to himself which shows he has no one else to talk to.


The end is very unexpected though, I think this because you expect the homeless man to get a home and live happily ever after with a family but it doesn't end like that at all in fact its the complete opposite he doesn't gain anything, and is still left homeless.


I really enjoyed reading this book and i think most boys and girls between the ages 12-16 would enjoy reading this book.
